Identify and describe three different theories of motivation? Why is it difficult to determine how to motivate other people?
THREE MAIN THEORIES OF MOTIVATION ARE:
MASLOW'S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS
This considers the presence of needs based on a specific hierarchy
where the requirements in the lower stages need to be accomplished
for an individual to achieve needs in the higher steps.
HERZBERG'S TWO FACTOR THEORY
Which proposes motivation as a combination of the presence of
favorable factors, namely hygiene factor and motivation for
individuals to gain the necessary contentment and satisfaction from
their work.
VROOM'S EXPECTANCY THEORY
This relates to the understanding of maximizing pleasure and
minimizing pain from every choice, action, and decision as a
consequence of rational choices and changes.
2. Through motivation can be generalized to be a concept of the
presence of favorable factors and gains for individuals; it is not
the end of all understanding. The nuances between individuals'
level of consideration and their knowledge of their needs have
layers of variety, bringing increased complexity and variability
from a single approach to reach the desired output.
