Q// Briefly describe how increasing the number of available process in main memory can increase the CPU utilization in a uniprocessor system ?? (short Answer)
As we know that uniprocessor system has only one Central
Processing Unit(CPU) which is used for executing the tasks like
adding, subtracting, multiplying the operands and many other
tasks.
When we talk about CPU utilization then we think that ideally the
the CPU utilization should be 100%, it means 0 wastage of CPU cycle
.
But practically it is not possible and mainly CPU utilization
varies from 40% to 90%.
So for increasing the CPU utilization the Job scheduler should
keep CPU as busy as possible.
Job scheduler selects the process whichever is in ready state from
Main memory and send it to CPU for performing desired tasks or
operations.
Since different process are stored in main memory in different
states like ready , running, waiting, blocked and terminated.
So if there are more and more processes are present in main memory in ready state then automatically the CPU utilization will get increased and CPU will always remain busy in executing those processses.
Please let me know if you need more explanation.

Operating Systems Questions (Please help if you can) 1. A computer has cache, main memory, and a disk used for virtual memory. If a referenced word is in the cache, 20ns are required to access it. If it is in main memory but not in the cache, 60ns are required to load it into the cache (this includes the time to originally check the cache), and then, the reference is started again. If the word is not in main memory,...

The heating of the system is an irreversible process. Briefly explain why, and describe how you would need to modify the heating process to make it reversible instead.
Please help answer the following questions on how operating systems handle memory allocation in Main Memory. Suppose page size = 2^11 and the logical address is 15 bits. How many pages can a process have at most? Convert the logical address of 18723 to a <page#, offset> format. Assume the page size from the question 1. Suppose the logical address 18723 is located in frame 5. What is the physical address that the logical address is mapped to?
