Answer #1

To choose the best candidate for a job, the manager must pay attention to the following points:

  • Giving more importance to the attitude and work ethics of the individual rather than getting mislead by the outer charisma and confidence - Many times, able candidates are rejected by choosing charismatic individuals. The hiring officer must pay attention to the inner skills and abilities instead of falling for external factors such as charisma and confidence.
  • Experience should go hand in hand with accomplishments - a candidate with lesser years of experience but well-accomplished in his previous job is better than a candidate with many years of experience but no specific achievements during his working stint in his previous job. this shows the inner strength and the power of the individual to perform and achieve in his job.
  • Attention should be given to an all-rounder- When choosing an employee, it is better to rely on a candidate who has performed well in his job while showing signs of being a good and involved team member rather than a top-class performer with a poor record of teamwork. choosing the former would be better for the overall work culture of the organization and would prove to be helpful in the long run for the organization.

so these are some of the points on which managers should rely after screen and finalizing the top candidates from the larger number of applications received. Having a proper mindset and giving attention to the minor details will prove to be helpful in the long run for the company.
