You need to show an alpha prototype of the product in 15 days . b ) Yoo work for a high technology comparty , the project manager and project sponsor اول are discussing the project costs and whether it is better to have their own comparwy part of the project or hire another comparly to do the work . If they asked for you opinion , what would be your reasoning ?

a)In this case , firstly, I would try to know the dependency of the critical component and whether the prototype can be presented without the component. Below are the 3 subsequent scenarios

• If prototype can be presented without the critical component then I would present the same to the customer and specify the reason why the critical component is not present. Also, I would promise to present the complete prototype again once we have the component, making sure to speed up the process so that the final delivery doesn’t get affected.
• If the prototype cannot be presented without the critical component, then I will try to get the component from any other source, even if some extra expenditure has to be done for the same. Once the prototype is approved , I would make sure to keep the promised deliverable ready and once the delivery is done after 25 days, I would speed up the process to deliver to the customer on time.
• If the prototype cannot be presented without the critical component and if I cannot arrange from any other source, I would firstly apologise to the customer and convey them about the reason for the delay. In addition to this I would promise them to expedite the process once the component arrives and till then keep all the other groundwork done.

b)My answer would depend on the below two factors

• The overall cost which would be incurred in both the scenarios
• The competencies of our own company and the other proposed company

If the other company has the expertise to complete the job with the same quality as ours and also if the overall costs would come down, only then I would give my support to outsource. If any of the above factors fail, I would not support in outsourcing of the project.
