Work teams evolve naturally through natural progression rather than deliberation. Yes, the management or the leadership selects the individuals that would be suitable for a team but their knowledge is, “on paper” and, in fact, teams rarely perform as they are initially intended. But, it is through this progression of trial and error, the team members for better interpersonal dynamics and gets the hang of the “rhythm” which is necessary to become a part of the team. We refer to this rhythm as synergy and it forms the basis for comparison between a string and a weak team. Creating a team with best individuals, while good in intentions might not always work if the members do not work well, together, and therefore, the natural evolution of a team, especially through the four stages of team development and continue working together, creates an overall better work team than deliberate actions.
