Hi I have an question that follow: "Glycogen that is broken down in muscle cells leads to the production of ATP. Briefly describe the catabolic processes that occurs that leads to the production of this high amount of energy."

My teacher gave use this answer "Describe glycogenolysis and continue to include the complete breakdown of glucose to show how ATP is formed.". I understand that glycogenolysis is the breakdown of glycogen and we get glucose and glucose-6-phosphate but how do I answer the question how ATP is formed? Do I need to talk about glycolysis and all the cellular respiration processes? Can glycolysis occur right after glycogenolysis?

What´s the answer to the question? Thanks.
