There are several current calls for establishing a basic guaranteed income as a more just approach to poverty alleviation and inequality than traditional means-tested social welfare policies (such as SNAP or TANF). Would Micheal Walzer find a basic guaranteed income more just than traditional welfare policies? Why (not)?

Basic Guaranteed Income talks about an aspect of equality at the level of income. It talks about aspect of identical payment from government. It can help in fighting technological unemployment. It also helps in ending financial abuse.

It also helps in expansion of middle class. It assists in fight against poverty. It also ensures an aspect of social security. It helps in discouraging the concepts of low wages. It also promotes the idea of providing free money to everyone without any strings attached.

This is considered as a welfare scheme. There is a problem in this case. People may feel dejected with this term. They may not like to be noticed to live on some welfare scheme. This aspect may discourage this scheme. So a proper planning is very much required for effective execution of this scheme.
