subject: Access your leadership capacity(100 words each) Question # 1: How do you currently define what positive psychologist’s call “The Good Life”? What has shaped your ideas (events, experiences, and people)? Does it match conventional definitions of “success” or “happiness”? Be sure to integrate your reading and viewing in your response. Question # 2: Why is metacognition important with regards to resilience, professional and personal growth?
1-The definition of good life varies from person to person, according to positive psychology the term good life refers to satisfaction, the fulfillment of primary and secondary need and affirmative social space. As human beings, we have a tendency to live a happy, healthy and valuable life. If a person is able to experience pleasure, satisfaction and self-image can define it as a good life.
The definition of a good life is not definite, it depends on your feeling and experiences as well as objectives of life, every person works hard to achieve aspects of the good life which includes good health, necessary financial support, social values, and self-dignity.
2- The conventional approach of success or happiness includes multiple aspects of life, there is no ideal definition of happiness, and it depends on individual attitude towards life. Many of us believe that financial support is a primary aspect of a happy life while others believe that freedom is important. In my opinion, a good balance between social value, money, and freedom is an essential part of a good life. I would like to confirm that a good life does not mean success because the definition of success varies from person to person.
3- Metacognition is a process by which a person create awareness towards the self-thought process, metacognition helps us to categorize primary and secondary aspect of our life, and it also helps us to understand the emotions, social feelings, and self-identity. A person who has control over their thoughts could divert it, metacognition develops abstract controlling abilities which is important for feeling pleasure and satisfaction.
As we know, our life is full of conflicts, sorrows, and happiness, our experiences towards these aspects decides our level of happiness and satisfaction, if we are aware of our thought process, we can understand the reason behind stress, sorrows, and problems and handle them in effective manners.
According to psychological perspectives, happiness is a kind of feeling by which we experiences, mental satisfaction, resilience and so metacognition becomes a key part of our happiness and personal growth as well as social development.
