Answer #1

VentroMedial Nucleus (VMN) is part of brain's hypothalamus region, which is the main center for linking endocrine with nervous system through pitutary gland. VMN and Medial Preoptic Area (MPOA) are the two main regions with high levels of androgen receptors (AR) and mainly regulate sexual behaviour. Therfore in a particular experiment if the animal receives testosterone implant, Immunoreactivity against AR can be detected with the help of  Immunohistochemistry technique where the rat brain cross sections are exposed with antibody PG-21 (detects the starting 21 amino acids of the androgen receptor) . Due to the presence of high number of androgen recptors in VMN region, immunoreactivity of androgen receptors will be exposed stronger compared to control animals which doesnt have testosterone implants.
