Introduction -

Before we dig deep by discussing on the factors behind drug abuse we have to understand that we have successfully created an environment which is very challenging, competitive and prone to unhealthiness. One can easily find this unhealthy change around us by looking at the work pressure, fast foods, sleeping mechanism and never the least commonly found drugs with incredible variety around us. Please try to understand

Factors -

  1. Due to social pressure, anxiety, depression, tension, loneliness - this is undoubtedly the biggest factors behind drug abuse, thanks to our human designed eco system. One can consider them as one of the outcomes of our achievements. What we can see in every part of the world is a challenging atmosphere which is so success driven that some one who refuses it often seen to have a life full of anxiety, depression, tension and loneliness.
  2. Family history - if you have a family history drug abuse, chances are the that you might get indulged in such activities quite often. This factor works well and exist among different families; no differences among rich and poor. We can see some do it because they have more than what they need while some do drug abuse just because they are facing challenges for their survivals. In both the cases we can see that our first point gets validated (i.e. due to social pressure, anxiety, depression, tension, loneliness)
  3. Desire to relax - this factors is more psychologically related than situational. Let us see some fun facts in support of my explanations, with constant and increasing drug and tobacco abuse one affects their mesolimbic dopamine system; this part of the brain is responsible for producing emotions and memory. Also the brain cells that are responsible to produce dopamine becomes a reason for attraction to these materials. My intention to bring this factor is to highlight one crucial human behavior which is desire to get relaxed form this over challenging, fast paced, success driver society. One who uses it gets habituated.
