Answer:

The benefits of weight loss may not be applied for elderly person. And they will get negative effects such as reduced bone density and mineral mass. In elderly person sarcopenial obesity is common , where gain in body mass but reduced muscle mass and reduced functional capacity occurs.

So that if an elderly person plans for weight loss, its not good idea because it may leads to risk of heart diseases, reduced  bone density, and increases mortality rate.
