The text does a good job of introducing the concept of Job Analysis - and this is often talked about as a primary activity for entry-level HR staff. Basically, job design is when we create jobs - thus the need to analyze the inputs, transformation, and outputs that are needed within our companies in order to not only achieve the goals of the firm but also to identify those tasks, duties, and responsibilities (TDRs) the individuals within the firm need to perform - as well as the knowledge, skills, abilities, other characteristics, (KSAOs) and competencies the individuals need in order to perform those TDR's.
There are FOUR parts to this assignment - it is okay to prepare all four in one document, but please leave space in between and use the headings I've identified below as you transition from part one to part two to part three to part four.
When using the O*NET Online system, please do not simply copy the information you receive, but do prepare a Summary of the required information in your own words - and cite O*NET Online as your source where appropriate.
PART ONE: WORK FLOW ANALYSIS
Perform a Work Flow Analysis for a sandwich maker at a Subway-like restaurant. Use the model as discussed in the Chapter 4 Introduction above. This means you need a column describing the Raw Inputs/Equipment/Human Resources and one for Activity and one for Output. In other words, think about what raw inputs are needed, what equipment is needed, what knowledge a worker needs to make the sandwiches/use the equipment/etc. Then, tasks are identified in the Activity section - and what the Output is. This is more than just a list of two items each. Think this through - or go watch a Subway Sandwich Artist in action.
Answer:-\
1. The Cost per hire = Annual cost /Tota Hired and the yield ratio = Hired employee/Applicants is mentioned in the below excel sheet.
2. A company always tries to spend the minimum amount of money on hiring employees hence the best recruiting method for the company should be the which offers the minimum cost per hire. Hence Social media /Company website offer a large number of applicants and the cost per hire is just $9 which is the minimum out of all the other methods. However, the yield ratio is just 0.06 which means out of 100 applicants only 6 can be hired hence the time required to make a hire using social media will be a lot more as we have to interview a lot more candidates before reaching the perfect one.
Hence in case of a business situation wherein, we need a quick hire we need to go to the case which offers the highest yield which is Job fares = 0.16, Referrals = 0.15, Temporary placement firms = 0.15. Since Job fares are seasonal, Referrals and Temporary placement firms are the places to opt for in case we need a quick hire.
