Answer #1

Answer - Lysergic acid diethylamide is a psychedelic drug that alters the state of consciousness by inducing hallucinations, heightened awareness and distorted perception. It is a recreational drug and therefore, is abused by many young adults. The effect of the drug may last from a few minutes to hours depending on the dosage. People who use the drug may experience extreme anxiety, erratic behavior and hallucinations.

LSD (acid) causes acid trip when people consume high doses of LSD. It produces feelings of euphoria and a loss of sense of reality. LSD can result in drug dependence but is not as dangerous as cocaine and heroin.

It is not as addictive as other drugs but chronic use can be detrimental to health. It is interesting to note that it is not physically addictive as it does not produce any physical cravings as other drugs. Though, it is psychologically addictive and repeated doses may dedevelop a tolerance to LSD.

LSD dependence or addiction can be treated through various addiction treatment programs. Withdrawal from LSD does not cause any physical symptoms but depression and other mental illnesses can occur after withdrawl. LSD can also have positive effecs on health if administered under physician's controlled conditions.
