How does the methods used to create specie range maps influence the outcome of the specie range map? Different methods used by different scientist creates variation in specie range maps of the same species. Why is this?
Aim or background and why is this created:
In this Methods we learn how to use maps to investigate the
distribution of different kinds of animals in local
environment.
which includes theoritical investigation of research.
The important methods used to create species range as below:
Richness maps
Point-to-grid maps and
Expert draw maps.
A hybrid method is also used that incorporated data from other models (all 3 methods).
Richness maps : created by overlaying individual species
range maps for terrestrial amphibians and reptiles.
Point-to-grid maps : This method includes, overlaying point
observations of species occurrences
with a grid and determined presence or absence for each cell
Expert draw maps: In this method the map is basically
obtained
through distribution of species modelling.
Highlights of the models : Obtained the correlation of and
similarities
of the spatial patterns of richness maps created with each of these
4 models or methods at 3 different
resolutions.
Obeservation and Results as below:
On Richness method : This method were more related at lower spatial resolutions than higher resolutions.
On Point-to-grid richness maps : This method estimated the lower
species richness and also those that are derived
from species distribution models the highest.
Expert draw maps and Hybrid maps : This method showed
intermediate levels of richness but had
different spatial pattern of the species richness from those
derived from other methods.

* The Map class is used to create and manipulate voting maps. The value of a * cell on the map denotes the party for which the majority of the population * of that cell votes for. For instance, in the following map, PARTY_X is the * choice of voters in three cells, while PARTY_O is preferred in the rest of * the map: * O X O * X O X * O O O * A map is...
