After gram staining procedure, when the microorganisms are observed under a microscope,
the only difference between gram positive and negative bacteria is that of a color.
The gram positive bacteria retains the crystal violet color and hence appears violet.
The gram negative bacteria can not retain violet and hence appear pink(due to counterstain).
