I disagree that the influence of the news media is relatively small, because we rely on the media for the latest news and facts about what is happening in the world. We don't just watch the news, but look for the latest information in the newspaper, books, magazines and social networks. The company regards the information as correct and true. The media is very potent because it influences and shapes the public's perception. The press has a considerable impact on society's minds. The media has the power to change decisions and opinions about different things in society from the information it provides. So I'd say the influence of the media on society is really big.
