How does a sea star crawl? If you put a sea star in a vacuum (assuming it would stay alive), could it cling to a rock? Why or why not?

Question

The sea star crawl across the sea-floor with the help of water-vascular system. This system is a hydraulic system and have fluid-filled canal which extend in the entire region of the seastar and have tube-feet as an external projections. The water pressure generated by the water-vascular system help in the movement or crawling of sea star.

If we put a sea star in a vacuum, it will not cling to the rock because sea star move by pressure generated from the water-vascular system to cling or move. But when in vacuum, no water is present, sea star could not have water to use in water-vascular system. Therefore, sea star would not cling to the rock.
