I think that the most important things that policy-makers should strive for is to ensure that (1) everyone has access to the (2) most state-of-the-art healthcare available, while (3) keeping costs down so as to make healthcare more affordable!

How do you respond to your friend's declaration? In your own words, how would you convincingly explain to your friend that such an arrangement is, or is not, possible to achieve in practice?

My response: Dear Friend, I truly appreciate your declaration for providing best healthcare services to the needy at most affordable rates. However, with the current scenario in mind, we see it is almost impossible to achieve this dream. People have become overtly money minded. Everyone is trying to fill in their pockets and gain higher financial status. Ethics has therefore taken a backseat. In order to achieve your declaration we need to take proactive steps to generate the self-consciousness among people. There must be an awareness created globally towards doing good for the society. Healthcare services must be available to all despite economic differences. Governments can help achieve this motive. Policies must be drafted towards optimizing costs and regulating the prices of healthcare equipment and services.
