1. Linear means arranged in or extending along a straight or nearly straight line.

Non linear means not arranged in a straight line or not sequential or straightforward.

2. In control engineering, a state-space representation is a mathematical model of a physical system as a set of input, output and state variables related by first-order differential equations or difference equations. State variables are variables whose values evolve through time in a way that depends on the values they have at any given time and also depends on the externally imposed values of input variables. Output variables’ values depend on the values of the state variables.

3. Robustness means the quality or condition of being strong and in good condition.

4. In silico is an expression meaning "performed on computer or via computer simulation" in reference to biological experiments.

5. High-throughput screening (HTS) or experiment is a method for scientific experimentation especially used in drug discovery and relevant to the fields of biology and chemistry. The results of these experiments provide starting points for drug design and for understanding the noninteraction or role of a particular location.

6.System identification is a methodology for building mathematical models of dynamic systems using measurements of the system's input and output signals. The process of system identification requires measuring the input and output signals from system in time or frequency domain.
