I need help with this question:

Describe in detail at least two factors that stimulated American imperialism/expansionism during the late nineteenth century. In your opinion, do you believe that the United States was justified to engage in imperialism?

Following are the two factors :-

1)

The first factor was the requirement for strengthen the military, desire for new markets and faith and wish in cultural superiority. The America introduced the concept of blessing of culture and civilization.

2)

The another factor was the industrial revolution which demanded for more resources for manufacturing and production, cheap labour and trade export. The 1890 frontier was suffering from hard time and looking for economic development, industries required more labour and materials, in order to compete with Europe.

I agree that united States was engaged in spreading imperialism as America had huge impact on economic, political, military and cultural at international level. The America was emphasized on spreading democracy and liberty.
