The goal of this problem set is to describe in detail the transport of iron into mammalian cells by transferrin and its receptor, transferrin receptor. Draw a model of a cell surface with transferrin receptor and transferrin and indicate with arrows how iron is making its way into the cell through this nutrient uptake system.
