The exponential growth of human population could lead to food shortages, global warming, and other issues of resource scarcity.

Global human population growth is around 75 million annually, or 1.1 % per year.

In the late 1970s China's one child policy tried to control population growth, but restrictions were relaxed in the early 2000s .

KEY TERMS :- 1) green house gas- cause continued warming when green house gas like co2 released into atmosphere.

2) Climate change - produced by global warming .

The world human population increased from 1 billion in 1800 to 7.7 billion today. The world population growth rate declined from 2.2% per year 50 years ago to 1.05% per year.

STAGES IN HUMAN POPULATION GROWTH

1) high stationary phase - marked by high birth rates and high death rates.

2)Early expanding phase - characterised by high birth rates of the high stationsy level and by lower , often falling , death rates.

3)Late expanding phase - marked by declining birth rates and death rates, wherein the death rates are consistently lower than the birth rates, thus yielding annual increase in population .

4)low stationary phase - marked by low birth and death rates.

5) Declining phase - marked by actual excess acess of deaths over births and unless compensated by immigration , by a fall in numbers.
