please briefly explain your idea about the following paragraph.
Genetic engineering is a process of modifying the characteristics of an organism by manipulating the organism’s genetic material. As technology advances and genetics and genomics become more and more explored, it is possible in the near future to see genetic engineering occurring in embryos in order to obtain desirable traits. These embryos are frequently referred to as “designer babies” because with the use of genetic technology, parents may be able to alter their eye color, attractiveness, intelligence, handedness, athleticism, and many more physical and mental abilities/traits (Simmons, 2008). This is a potential source of a new form of inequality. An intervention such as this is likely to be very pricey, giving only privileged members of society access to it. Since it is not equally accessible to everyone, inequality is formed, and in the future, it is likely that genetically developed children are superior to children who have been naturally developed. Genetically engineered individuals have the potential to have higher intelligence levels or athletic abilities than others, putting others at a disadvantage in society. It is essential to understand the potential risk genetic engineering poses against future societies, especially in a world where inequality is already so prominent.
