What are possible impurities in the preparation of NH4BF4? Prepared with NH4F, boric acid, and H2SO4. What are ways to lessen these impurities?
The main impurities formed during preparation of NH4BF4 from Boric acid, NH4F and H2SO4 are:-
1) Acidic impurities:- The product NH4BF4 formed from the reaction may include acid and hence it is removed by washing with acetone.
2) salts :- A few salts may be formed and thus NH4BF4 is purified by dissolving it in hot water containing concentrated ammonia, heating to precipitate any silica, then filtering and evaporating.

(organic lab question) In the preparation of cyclohexene from cyclohexnol, what are the possible impurities in the final product (cyclohexene) and how each was removed. Does this relate to the three washings that were performed in the lab? it was washed with saturated NaCl, then 10% sodium bicarbonate solution and once again with NaCl. Please explain in details, thanks!
Boric acid has a Ka of 5.8 × 10-10. What is the pKa? Assume boric acid is H3BO3 and is monoprotic.
Question 2 Boric acid has a Ka of 5.8 × 10-10. What is the pKa? Assume boric acid is H3BO3 and is monoprotic. Question 3 A 0.25 M solution of boric acid is mixed with a 0.75 M solution of NaOH. What is the pH of the solution if 7.5 mL of boric acid is mixed with 5 mL of NaOH? Question 4 What volume of boric acid solution (in mL) is required to fully neutralize the sodium hydroxide solution?
