During S phase the DNA replicates so during prophase the chromatin condenses to form a chromosome, each chromosome has 2 sister chromatids attached to each other at the centromere. during metaphase, the chromosomes align at the metaphase plate, then during anaphase, the sister chromatids are separated and these sister chromatids become the chromosomes of the daughter cells and during telophase, these sister chromatids are at the opposite poles so the answer is d) are at opposite poles
