Resistance of the first resistor = R1 = 2.2

Resistance of the second resistor = R2 = 0.578

Equivalent resistance if the resistors are connected in series = Rs

Rs = R1 + R2

Rs = 2.2 + 0.578

Rs = 2.778

Equivalent resistance if the resistors are connected in parallel = Rp

Rp = 0.458

a) Equivalent resistance if the resistors are connected in series = 2.778

b) Equivalent resistance if the resistors are connected in parallel = 0.458
