Core values are important for an organization and its employees as these support the vision, establish the culture and showcases organizational identity. It reflect the employee’s belief, principles, etc. Having strong core values helps in decision making process, employee retention and recruitment, etc. Some of the core values which are common among organization and employees are accountability, commitment, balance, diversity, empowerment, innovation, integrity, etc. Thus, these plays important role in acting honestly at workplace, creating and developing new ideas for the potential change, everyone gets encouragement to take initiatives, having employee equity initiatives and good composition of the employees, showcase greater commitment to have good services or products, proactiveness in maintaining work-life balance, and most importantly acknowledging the duties.
Yes, as a senior manager I do feel that these should be focused in an organization as these relate with the leadership in terms of competence, character, compassion, catalyst and courage.
