Why is it important for employees to feel like they belong. Example: a branch of a company does not feel connect to the main branch of the company. Not feeling that they are part of or that the main branch is a resource. How does this hinder the performance of the smaller branch?

It is important for any employee to feel like they belong because as many surveys conducted have stated and as many entrepreneurs have expressed that motivation is the most important tool for businesses or companies to achieve the results beyond desired. If employees feel like a part of the company ,their attitude towards work will be much more positive than employees who don't feel the same.

Motivation is crucial for companies to drive employees and there aren't many better motivators than giving employees the sense of belongingness which inculcate a sense of happiness ,drives employees better and inturn leads to improved and efficient performance.
