Afro Maintenance is a small aircraft wing maintenance facility located in Seattle, Washington. They decides to improve material flow in the facility, using the load-distance method. The current process layout of facility is shown in below. The distance between adjacent departments have 10 feet (ex: distance between Entrance office and Receiving room is 10 feet), and distance between diagonal departments are 20 feet (ex: Entrance and Assembly room is 20 feet).
