1)Report to Senior Management: The PMO will be better positioned to strategically influence project management activities. However, senior management may not fully understand the role of a PMO. In such cases, the PMO may be asked to compensate for management’s shortcomings in selecting projects and setting appropriate performance goals. 2) Report to Departmental Management: This approach encourages a hands-on approach with the actual practitioners. The danger is that association with only one department will cause a narrow view, and inconsistency in practice across the organization.
