Alfred Russel Wallace was a British naturalist who independently conceived the theory of natural selection along with that of the Darwins theory. Later these to theories were jointly published as the Theory of natural selection and origin of species. Even though the theory is famous with Darwin's name, Wallace also has got great influence in the formation of the theory. He is also famous for Wallace line, Wallace effect etc which are concerned with the biogeography and distribution of flora and fauna in the world.
