The salt marshes are the area which are coastal and are formed due to the activities of marine water and salt water. Here marshes are present which are formed due to the deposition of organic matters. The water tides has a major role in the creation of this ecosystem.

This condition has nutrients for the growth of plants and aquatic animals. So in course of evolution the species have emerged according to marshy and salty habitat. Species originated in this region can survive in a range of water types.

Every ecosystem has some factors which influence the evolution of species. Here the due to marshy conditions, plants emerged which have strong roots and contains toxic in their parts for protection. The animals can survive on land as well as water both.

Mutation, gene flow, genetic drift, and natural selection are the evolutionary forces which affect the ecosystem and the species, thus shaping the futures of ecosystems. Here natural factors like tidal forces, leaf canopies affect the flora and fauna.
