if individual is carrier and normal for phenotype of recessive trait that means the genes are present on sex chromosomes(most probably on X chromosome) in heterozygous form. due to heterozygosity one normal allele is present in individual which gives normal phenotype but it is carrier. this one defective allele pass to offspring and offspring also either affected of carrier.
