Problem reported by Parent: Continuous running around the house and in school. Inability to concentrate or sit at one place. Becomes restless very easily. He is having low scores in academics.

Clinical Diagnosis: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Symptoms:

• Inattention
• Hyperactivity
• impulsivity
• Aggressive behaviour.

Psychological Evaluation and Assessment:

• Clinical interview with the parents and child to get to know more about symptoms and his overall behaviour during the day. There is a discussion about developmental history, any kind of trauma or wounds.
• Rating scales conner comprehensive behaviour rating scale which is given to teachers and parents to note down child behaviour in different situations.
• Physical exam- Checking of any form of physical injury and common medical test.
• Intelligence test - Weschler individual achievement test and Wechsler intelligence scale for children. Wood-Johnson test of achievement.

Results

• Hormonal imbalances of serotonin. High levels of dopamine.
• No physical head injury during developmental stages.
• Below average intelligence
