Startegic Vision statement and Mission statement is very essential also sustainable. A vision statement state that where a Firm want to go in future? it is the statement to show the current and future goals of an organization. Mision statement is also essential because it state all stakeholders and public that why a firm exists. Mission is the reason of a firm to do business.
Having a Mission and Vision statement has become need of business because without these two statements, no firm can move forward. if there are no mission and vision statement then firm would not be able to make strategic decisions. the leadership will fail in absense of these statements. Employees will be directionless and confused if they do not know why they are working and what they want to achieve?
Top firms like Apple, Walmart, Google, Amazon etc all have their mission and vision statement. even small firms have these two statements because these statement set a base for strategic management process. strategic management process include mission and vision statement because these statement helps management to make goals and objectives which are aligned with mission and vision of the organization then make stratetegies to achieve those goals in long term.
both statements are viable as they have very important role like both statements helps to communicate the purpose, goals to all employee working in the organization.these are viable because these helps to improve productivity and efficiency of organization.
for example- walmart has mission and vision to provide low and affordable products so that customers can do savings.
this helps walmart to reduce its business cost, provide training to employees, lower cost of inventory and supply so that products can be present at low cost and customers can afford them. this is all because of having clear mission and vision statement.
