Mithochondria also synthesizes protein but majority of proteins are synthesized in cytoplasm which is transported to different organelles. The proteins that are transported to mithochondria by post translational process have a signal sequence that is also called as leader sequence, and this leader sequence is responsible for recognition of that protein. The leader sequence have both hydrophobic and basic amino acids but their is absence of acidic amino acids. This leader sequence is further cleaved by signal peptidase after its entry in the organelles.

Amphiphilic means it contains both hydrophobic and hydrophilic amino acids.

So the answer for this question is option A- An N terminal amphiphilic α-helix that is cleaved from the protein by a signal peptidase in the matrix of the mitochondrion
