Answer #1

Both geomyids and heteromyids are rodents. The heteromyids are burrowing rodents and geomyids are known for tunneling activity.  The morphological feature which is common between geomyids and heteromyids is that both have fur lined cheek mouth and in this mouth food can be stored. They also differ from each other because their dentition are different and cheek teeth of heteromyids are hypsodont and geomyids are hypselodont .
