Answer #1

28 Angiostensin

  • Among other functions of kidneys, another function is production of hormones.
  • Hormones renin and angiotensin, regulated salt balance.
  • Renin converts angiotensinogen to angiotensin-I.
  • Angiotensin converting enzyme converts angiotensin-I to angiotensin-II.
  • Angiotensin-II results in increased blood vessel constriction and elevates blood pressure.

29. Erythropoietin

  • Hormone erythropoietin stimulate bone marrow to produce red blood cells.

30. Reabsorption

  • Proximal convoluted tubule: PST is proximal portion of nephron duct system, from the Bowman’s capsule to the loop of Henle’s.
  • They are present in renal cortex.
  • They are made of cubodoil epithelium, which help in reabsorption process.

31. Humerus

  • The large bone humerus joins to shoulder socket.

32. Scoliosis

  • Scoliosis is a condition of excessive lateral curvature in vertebral column.
  • The curvature may be in “C” or “S” shape.

33. Cranium

  • The skull bones are subdivided as:
  1. Cranium or neurocranium- formed by 8 bones. 2 bones form the roof or Calvarium and base is formed by 6 bones.
  2. The face bones- 14 bones comprises of the face.

34. Skeletal muscles

The skeletal muscles are attached to skeleton and helps in voluntary movement.

35. Insertion

The muscle part or end which is attached to the movable structures and help in movement

36. Muscle tone

Muscle tone is the passive resistance exhibited by resting muscle, towards stretch. Also referred to as the degree of residual contraction.
