• In 1996, the engineering and design of a DFIG, using back to back converter in the rotor circuit with vector control scheme was described .
• In order to develop and improvise the fault ride-through capabilities and crowbar dynamics of the system an internal model control controller has been proposed.
• Various new and necessary control schemes were proposed for improvising the performance of inverter section and field programmable gate array (FPGA) based reconfigurable control strategy .
• For direct drive PMSG based wind turbine systems an integrated control strategy of back to back converter has been developed by engineers.
