Interspecific competition is the competition between individuals of two different species.
This happens when the species have overlap niche like food or resources. This competition decreases the fitness of both the species because they interfer with other individuals to meet carrying capacity and thus both will be affected.
Intraspecific competition is competition between individuals of the same species.
This happens because in this case there is limited resources like food habitat sexual selection ect. In this case also both the kndu5 becomes affected.
Intraspecific. Competition is much more effective than interspecific competition because in this case the competition is harder NAD long lasting .
In this case also one survive and one die who loose.
Thank you
Describe the influence of interspecific and intraspecific competition on changes in population size?
Question 3 Lotka-Volterra interspecific competition models: Can be used to calculate the changes in population size of two competing species Do not consider the impact of direct competition between two species Require only carrying capacity, starting population size, and interspecific competition coefficients Tell us whether interspecific competition between two species is exploitative or interferen
Competitive interactions can occur within species (intraspecific competition) or between species (interspecific competition). These interactions are often intense, but intensity is virtually always a part of one of the two types of competition. Which of the following helps explain this observation? Multiple Choice Interspecific competition is usually intense because different species cannot partition resources when resource requirements overlap Introspecific competition is usually intense because individuals have nearly identical resource requirements Interspecific competition is usually intense because it may involve predator/prey...
Explain why interspecific competition is more likely to lead to convergent evolution and why intraspecific competition is more likely to lead to divergent evolution.

QUESTION 3 Two species are likely to coexist stably into the future when Intraspecific competition is stronger than interspecific competition for both species. Interspecific competition is stronger than intraspecific competition for both species. Resources are abundant and the population is far away from the carrying capacity K for one species. 1. Which statement about interspecific competition is false? * a. Exploitation competition is the most common form of competition in nature b. Competition is often asymmetrical with one species competing more strongly than the other c. Inter and intra specific competition are happening simultaneously d. Competition is an interaction in which one species is harmed and the other species benefits 2. Which of the following is an example of interference competition? * a. Self-thinning (choose any/all that apply): A) is an example of intraspecific competition B) is an example of interspecific competition C) results in increased individual biomass D) results in decreased density E) results in increased density F) follows a -3/2 power function for the relationship between density and biomass G)results in mortality of individuals under favorable growth conditions H) results in decreased individual biomass
Intraspecific competition is competition between individuals of the same species for the same limited resources. This is an example of Carrying capacity O None of these answers Logistic population growth O Density-dependent factors
