It is possible to communicate and establish relationships with the prison gang members. This could be done with the help of the prison officers, other prisoners who comes out in bail or through their family members. The purpose of such relationship would depend on who establishes that relationship. For example, a criminal would try to build their relationship in order to engage in more crimes when they come out. A researcher might want to study the prisoners and a psychologist would try to counsel the prisoners for their misbehaviours.

It’s true that there are many contrabands available in the prison which is taken inside with the help of the prison officers and with the help of other prisoners. One of he most important ways to prevent this is to establish a complete scan of the packages both prisoners and the officers bring into the prison which could be connected to a central database. Secondly, periodical searches in the cells of those who are suspected of would help seize any such products. Thirdly appointing spies from the prisoners themselves would help know the true information regarding those who use them. There should also be periodical inspections from other prisons, would also keep the officers and the prisoners alert.
