There are many symbolism and issues that people dissected from the video. Like the first pose of Jim Crow, which according to people symbolizes black people dancing, another thing people picked was a black hooded figure riding on a white horse, this was taken from bible and symbolizes death. According to the theme of the video, we can see Gambino dancing with bunch of people around him and we can see riots going in the background. There are tons of things happening in the background, people fighting, cars burning, etc. the video talks about how guns are treated better than humans like in the first act where after killing a black man, the gun is kept in red cloth and treated with respect while the body is dragged harshly. This shows the issues on how gun control laws are not taken seriously and how our government is doing nothing about it. We can see it later in the church scene where people are getting killed. He also focused on how cellphone are now becoming tools for recording all the police brutality and other shameful things that harm people especially black people. This video throws light on how black people are treated in the country and how white people will borrow things from black culture and fashion but won’t treat them equally. We can see the racism happening in the country but still choose to not talk about it. The main dancing was to distract people it is like social media which is used to distract us from the real issues happening in the country.
