so lets say that a take a cheek swab and find a mutation in the DNA present there. now since i found this mutation im freaking out. can i pass this mutation i found present in the cheek swab DNA to my offspring

Mutations in cheek DNA are classified under somatic mutations. Somatic mutations occur in non reproductive cells and are therefore not passed on to offsprings.

Mutations that occur in reproductive cells such as ova and sperms are classified as germ line mutations. These mutations are passed on to offsprings.
