Answer #1

Kudzu is an invasive plant species in the United States. Its introduction has produced devastating environmental consequences.

The name is derived from the Japanese name for the plant East Asian arrowroot.Kudzu is extremely bad for the ecosystems that it invades because it smothers other plants and trees under a blanket of leaves, hogging all the sunlight and keeping other species in its shade

HOW TO CONTROL KUDZU

Many herbicides will kill back the stems and leaves of kudzu; however, most will not provide eradication by killing of the root systems.

The best way to kill kudzu that we have found, is to spray a solution of 1 gallon of vinegar to 1 cup of salt and add a squirt of dishwashing liquid. It may take more than one spraying, but will do the job. It also helps if the day is long and hot after spraying as the sun helps to bake the solution into the plant.
