The reaction that occurs is:

2 V + 5 + 5/2 O2 = V2O5

We calculate the moles of O2 needed to complete the reaction:

n O2 = 40.9 mol V + 5 * (5/2 mol O2 / 2 mol V + 5) = 51.125 mol O2
