Is this a true statement?

An employer is responsible for the negligence of its employees committed in their course of employment. The tortfeasor/wrongdoer is also responsible for his/her own negligence. The injured party can sue both or just the employer or employee. If the injured party sues the employer and collects, the employer can seek reimbursement from the employee, but generally will not bother, because the employee will likely not have sufficient assets.

While it is true that an employer will be responsible for the torts done by their employees and the employees will also be individually responsible for their mistakes. The injured needs to sue the employer because the employer is the person who appoints the employee for that duty and they need to ensure the employee is fit enough for it. The employer will collect the loss from the employee or terminate them without giving any benefits depending on the tort committed by the employee. Hence the given statement is true and it depends on the situation and the type of injury .
