Here, two means are to be compared

1) Mean for the group that received CBT

2) Mean for the group that received only medication.

The appropriate test for testing equality of two means is t test. However, X2 is reported which is used for testing association or goodness of fit.

Therefore, a t-test should be reported, rather than a Χ2 test.
