DOS attack
Denial of service attack is a organized/planned kind of attack with the aim of crashing down a server by overloading it by sending huge number of packets or bombing it with requests , it is usually done by sending useless/trash information packets to the targeted server in huge amounts consecutively. It makes a machine or resource unavailable to its the users, so as to target temporary or permanent interruption of services of that server. Eg. a crash on a eccomerce website for even 1minute could lead to potential loss of millions.
We can mitigate dos attack by IP address Whitelisting or Blacklisting blocking Ips from unknown attackers and rate limiting.
ARP poisoning Attack
Address Resolution Protocol poisoning in this the attacker sends false/fake ARP messages through the Local area network LAN.In the consequence, the attacker is able to link the MAC address of his own with the IP address of a legitimate or the target computer on the network.this kind of attack is often used to facilitate other attacks of type Session hijacking, M-I-M attacks,Dos Attacks,DDos attacks.
We can mitigate Arp attack by relying on Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Using a Static ARP, Setting Up Packet Filtering.
SLAAC Attack
Stateless Address Auto Configuration (SLAAC) is a sudden-6 type attack on the functionality of a network through IPv6 requests, attacker has only one limitation that is to work on the local network of the victim, the router receives IPv6 requests from the host, and then translates those requests and turns them into IPv4 and transfers them along to the target network and by this putting itself in the middle of the flow of the process now the attacker controlling the router is able to observe and modify the traffic.
To mitigate we can layer firewalls and routers that prevent IPv6 communication.

Network security 1. explain succinctly how a Denial of Service attack may occur on an implementation of the TCP protocol's 3 way handshake? 2. Suggest solutions on your own on how such a Denial of Service attack on TCP 3-way handshake can potentially be prevented or mitigated? Note that you are being asked to think through this answer on your own. You are however allowed to research on the Internet for potential solutions. Please make sure you understand the solution...
how could a denial of service (DOS) attack be used to harm a corporation providing a cloud based service? could this be done from another country
Discuss in-depth a Denial of Service (DOS) attack including the recent attacks on Miami-Dade Schools and the presidential election in 2020. Please include in your discussion how a DOS cyber attack is done, motivations for doing so, and how companies can protect themselves including accounting systems. Please do not include a definition of what a DOS attack is.

Description: In this assignment, you will be launching a denial of service attack on a web server. We will be using hping3, a command-line oriented network security tool inside Kali Linux (an advanced penetration testing Linux distribution). Setting up the victim machine Download the Windows XP virtual machine with WebGoat server installed, using the following link. We will use this machine as the victim machine and launch a DoS attack on the WebGoat server.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwCbaZv8DevUejBPWlNHREFVc2s Open the victim machine and launch...

For the following questions I would like you to discuss the particulars of each attack scenario and how Kerberos defends against it. You will need to consider various elements of the attack scenarios. Some attacks can be implemented between multiple Kerberos components. For example, a MITM attack could occur between various components at various times. State your assumptions about how the attack is occurring, then describe how Kerberos defends against it. Good answers will describe both the particulars of the...
