3) Is the Federal Air Marshal Service even worth continuing given its cost? Has the Federal Air Marshal Service likely acted as a deterrent to terrorists and prevented them from even attempting another September 11th style attack?
Federal Air Marshal Service is very useful to provide safety and security to the passenger flights. But their service raises a number of controversy. For their service a large amount of money is spent by the Government. But actually they fail to prevent attack like 11 September. It is also true that they will not be able to prevent such big attack as it will cause the death of many persons.
On the other hand their service has also some positive aspects:
After 11 September attack many steps have been taken to train them. It is very tough to prevent such a big attack. Besides, they had no idea how about such attack as it happened suddenly. But now they are trained more efficiently. If any terrorist tries to hijack flight, they will be able to prevent hijacking. In such case the passengers life will be in danger. Plane may be crashed. But it will not cause the massacre like 11 September.
After 11 September attack no terrorist attack did not take place like that. But the Federal Air Marshal Service is being modernised more and it is essential for the security of the passengers of the flights.
