If a protein is being made in a cell and an essential amino acid is not available in the amino acid pool, what happens?

During protein synthesis, if an essential amino acid is missing in the amino acid pool, then the body could break down some other protein in the body so that the need for the missing essential amino acid is fulfilled. If the essential amino acid is unavailable completely, then the protein synthesis will be stopped.

If a non-essential amino acid is unavailable during protein synthesis, then the body could either make it by itself or get it from liver.
